Wow! Can’t believe how time goes past. Mind you we have been away holidaying.
October 3rd and back on me ‘ead. We continue with the Laura Taylor album, which is shaping up nicely. Local legend Andy Carlyle has been in over the last few months to work on a new project in the shape of Welfare State. His single ‘The Traveller’ can be heard on myspace. Point Blank from Todmorden were in last Sunday to record four excellent songs , which again should be audible on myspace. The awesome Danko dropped in to check us out for future recording sessions and were drooling over our EMT plate reverb, and rightly so…..watch out for Danko. And finally…… our friends BNA bounced into Valve Studios to have the final batch of photos taken……….at last we all sighed! Our record label machinery can now grind into action and hopefully see the long awaited release of their EP/single thingy.
One of our regular visitors, Laura Taylor was in last week (July 26th) to record acoustic guitar tracks with our friend Ian Alveston and guitar legend and top bloke Gary Boyle. WOW!! I think we need to start a famous people board…
Metal band Illusion of Intelligence were at Valve in late July to record four songs. We had a fantastic high octane, energy withering week. GREAT FUN, Great Recording. They’ll be back in early September. C’MOOOON!!
Laura Taylor has also started work on her album this week and to round off a busy week, BNA visit Valve Studios this Sunday to shoot the final batch of photos for their unusual, upcoming single release!
Kuschty Rye www.myspace.com/deshorsfall have been in this week 16/05/07 and started recording on their new album.
Bluesy/Roots type bloke Ian Alveston of Helen Watson Trio dropped in yesterday (March 30th 2007) to demo a few tunes. Ian is a very thoughtful songwriter, and a great ‘feel’ player. Check out his music at www.ianalveston.co.uk
Singer and writer of songs (in a roots/folk/jazzy type vein) LAURA TAYLOR has been visiting Valve Studios on a regular basis recently. Laura and Des have been working on pre-production for her debut album. The as yet untitled work, will be recorded at Valve Studios and released on VALVE RECORDS.
Work is still progressing (albeit slowly) on BRAND NEW ANALOGUES release. Several setbacks have cursed us but photography will be finalised shortly……….
BRAND NEW ANALOGUES stormed the building last Saturday December 2nd for a whistle stop on their extended photo shoot around the North. As usual, watch out for titbits on their site but expect a Valve Records release early in the New Year…..it will all be very collectable…everyone will want one. No really!
REVELATOR BAND have been in recently to record basic tracks for four new songs. Sounding fantabidoza as usual and it’s a pleasure to have them back at Valve.
The mighty BRAND NEW ANALOGUES thunder on, with three new songs recorded over the last 8 weeks. Mixing commences on Thursday the 5th of October. The basic tracks sound fantastic so we expect a great result which will be mastered over at TOUCHSTONE in Leeds. Watch this site for a possible podcast and keep your eyes peeled on their myspace thingy.
DAVE PEGG & PJ Wright (of Fairport Convention and Ashley Hutchings’ Morris On) are currently on tour around the country, with their ‘A Night Off With Peggy and PJ’ shows. We went along to see them at Blackpool Grand Theatre. What a great night…top notch playing, stories and excellent songs. Outback Music will be promoting a show entitled ‘ An Afternoon Off With Peggy and PJ ‘ at The Puzzle Hall on July 16th at 4.30pm. Valve Mobile will be recording the show for a live album release.
BRAND NEW ANALOGUES
We’ve been busy recording songs with the very splendid BRAND NEW ANALOGUES
BNA are a brilliant 3-piece Rock band from Keighley, just over the hill from the legendary Valve Studios here in sunny (sometimes) Mytholmroyd.
Between them; J.T., Gaz and Phil write and perform their own highly melodic, high octane brand of rock that beats the shit out of you but leaves you smiling.
BNA will be back at Valve in July to complete songs for an Autumn release……. (BNA). Check their presence on MySpace which links to their website.
Rumour has it that the excellent Angelo Palladino and his band will be at Valve this month to record songs for their next album. We look forward to this, as Angelo is a truly great songwriter. Check out his album, (Blood, Blues and Bad Dreams) the details of which are on this site.
June 4th was a great day for Outback Music as we celebrated the 50th Birthday of our friend and business colleague (at Creative Consortium) GRAHAM HAIGH.
Festivities took place at The Puzzle Hall Inn (click the link on this site) with an all day Music and Beer festival WORRAGOOD DO!!!
BNA, Cherrypickers, Fallen Horses and The Revelator Band performed outstanding sets to a wild audience. Sun shone, beer flowed, music played, people smiled.
That’s about all for now.
OK - so we think the old technology still has something that the 21st century can’t match. That doesn’t mean we’re living in the past though.
Now that the site is up and running, Valve Radio is going to feature some funky podcasts from the wind-torn hills of Yorkshire. Analogue style erm… digitised.
As soon as we get the fab new Trident Series 65 mixer installed we’ll be under way!
Sorry for the delay but we now have material recorded for podcasting…..hopefully won’t be long!
